Winter A-Frame Elopement in Bethlehem, NH | Melissa + John

Winter A-Frame Elopement in Bethlehem, NH

One way to beat the January blues is to elope! That's what Melissa and John did at least! The two of them had a winter A-Frame elopement in Bethlehem, NH, and it was gorgeous! They booked the CUTEST A-Frame AirBnB for a weekend at the end of January in 2022, with the intent that it would double as the location where they would hold their elopement. It was stunning! We got a huge snow storm in NH the day before their elopement, which was actually the original day they wanted to get married! But, due to the snowstorm, we all decided that postponing the celebrations for a day would be the best decision.

Tre, my husband, and also my second photographer for this session, took the wheel and drove us up north in New Hampshire to a sleepy little town called Bethlehem. There, we pulled up to Melissa + John's A-Frame AirBnB (seriously the cutest place), and got to work. John greeted us downstairs, already dressed in his suit, looking calm and yet anxiously awaiting saying "I Do" to his soon-to-be wife. Melissa was upstairs getting ready, so I walked up the stairs to join her as she got her final touches ready for the ceremony. Her dress was stunning and, paired with her short, dark hair, was giving classy 1920's vibes in the most elegant way possible. Her ensemble, the mid-century modern A-Frame AirBnB - it all alluded to this old-fashioned kind of love, the warm and cozy kind.

Once Melissa was ready, she walked down the stairs to the main floor and did a first look with John. The giddiness between them was contagious - Tre and I couldn't help but smile along with them the whole time! By now, their officiant for their elopement ceremony had arrived, who also happened to be my brother, so it truly felt like a family affair!

Melissa + John bundled up in their coats, and we ventured outside of the AirBnB to the front of the A-Frame for their elopement ceremony. The ceremony was short, sweet, a little chilly, and filled with happy tears and laughter. They sealed the deal with a kiss in front of the A-Frame's giant windows, amongst the snow, and it was the perfect ceremony. John then ran inside and grabbed a bottle of champagne and two glasses for him and Melissa to toast to the start of their new marriage!

Afterwards, we went inside so they could warm up a bit, have a first dance to a modest mouse record, cut their adorable wedding cake, and video call their families quickly to celebrate with them! Then, Melissa and John changed their outfits into more snow-appropriate attire, and literally went outside and played in all the snow! It was SO CUTE! They were tossing snow at each other, making snow angels, tackling each other, and kicked their marriage off with a ton of fun.

To warm up from the snow day activities, they cozied up in front of the fireplace inside their AirBnB, laughed, snuggled, and enjoyed each other's company. Tre and I took a real hands-off approach during this time to let them be, and I also gathered all the mini-polaroid pictures we had taken from their elopement so that Melissa and John could have a look through them before Tre and I head out.

It was SUCH a gorgeous elopement, and I'm thrilled that they chose me to document it all for them. This wedding definitely stands out in my mind, which I think, in part, is due to Melissa and John taking advantage of the cozy winter season and making the most out of their winter A-Frame elopement in Bethlehem, NH. A winter dream come true!
